ASAE will recognize three individuals for exceptional leadership in the association community and society during its annual meeting in August.

Michelle Mills Clement, CEO of the Chicago Association of Realtors, will receive the 2021 Key Award, which is presented to chief executives of associations who demonstrate exceptional qualities of leadership and a deep commitment to membership organizations, according to a statement. Mills Clement has been an advocate for fair housing and pushed for real estate industry to address the racial inequalities it helped bring about.
Donald Dea, co-founder of Fusion Productions and the technology conference digitalNow, will receive the Academy of Leaders Award. The award is given to consultants or industry partners who have demonstrated exemplary support of ASAE and the entire association community.
Vicki Deal-Williams, chief staff officer for multicultural affairs at the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, will receive the Professional Performance Award, which recognizes invaluable contributions made by association executives who are at the top level in their organizations but do not serve in the role of CEO. Deal-Williams had held in her current role for decades, overseeing the portfolio for one of the largest professional associations in the United States.
"This year's honorees embody the broad, meaningful impact that association leaders are having on a local, national and international scale," said Matthew D'Uva, CEO of American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases and chair of ASAE's 2021 Awards & Recognition Selection Committee. "Their contributions to their organizations, industries and the association profession is clear and profound."
The three recipients will officially be presented their award during ASAE's Annual Meeting & Exposition, held mostly online from August 13-18.
